Le chat noir

While exploring the very old part of the village of Châteauneuf du Rhône in France, I suddenly came across this black cat – le chat noir.

It was sitting quietly in the doorway observing passers by (which at the time was only me!) – a scene of total contentment. I seized the moment before it ran off and got a quick photo.

A picture of contentment

However, she did not move far, but permitted only one photo only before turning her head in total disdain. No amount of calling would entice her to look at me again. So I took another photo of an aloof ‘Chat noir’!

The look of disinterest and disdain!

This capturing of her in profile seemed to satisfy her, and she again faced the street for me to have another opportunity at capturing this lovely moment.

That’s the photo I was after!
