Weekly photo challenge: Beyond (his reach!)

The mighty and very tall giraffe.

The mighty and very tall giraffe.

There is no doubt about it.

Giraffe are one of the tallest animals on this planet.

This is not an evolutionary mistake – it has taken eons for their species to evolve that long neck and those long, strong, legs.

Quite simply – they can now reach into the trees where few others can go. So all those tasty leaves are left untouched until a hungry giraffe happens by.

Sometimes though, all that extra height just isn’t enough 😦

To get to those delectable shoots, just beyond one’s reach, it is necessary to gain an extra little bit of height by using your tongue!

This post is a response to the Weekly photo challenge: Beyond. This giraffe was a delight to watch in real life and I still get a giggle every time I look at the photo below πŸ˜†

Streeeeeetch....... Is it just too high? So use your tongue for that extra tad of reach!
