Quite the most unusual mailbox will be added to our collection today! It is an old fuel pump! No point stopping here for gasoline – the unleaded is all gone and the super is no longer available! Please mind your step as you walk in the long grass – and watch for the occasional ‘Joe Blake’ (commonly used Australian rhyming slang expression for a ‘snake’).
According to the small yellow sign, it seems that ‘Junk mail’ is not to be left either!
No fast food in the coffee stop – just a gate heading off down a lane to a residence somewhere beyond – way out of sight.
You would have no trouble getting folks to find your place at any rate…. “Just turn in at the fuel pump!”
There must be lots of these interesting mailboxes out there around the world! Have you come across any in your wanderings? If you do, don’t forget to snap a picture or two to add to our collection.
Contributions from other bloggers so far are are listed on my primary mailbox post. To see other posts on this blog which are part of the Amazing Mailbox Quest, please click on the link at the top of the page.
To participate in the Amazing Mailbox Quest:
Get a photo (please either photograph without the owner’s details or cover/blur them so that they are not readily identifiable) and post it on your site. It would be good to know the country and state of each entry, but to protect the privacy of the owners, please avoid any detailed location information in your post or in the photo(s).
Tag the post ‘Amazing mailbox quest’, then add a link to it in the comments on this page so that others can find your posts. I will also add a link (to your post) to the overall list along with everyone else’s.

Interesting one again!
It’s certainly different!
Some people have great imaginations and are good at recycling
That’s true! One doesn’t often see a fuel pump reused so creatively though!
I’m still looking but haven’t been out into the country side recently. They are all just boring square boxes around here!!!
I think this quest will stay for a few years, so there is no hurry – we can add new ones at any stage. I was fortunate to get a bit of travelling in over the summer break, which is where I spotted a few more.
Good I like ongoing challenges, makes me keep my eyes open…
