What do you do with an old motorbike petrol tank and a few loose bits of metal? Easy! you could make a penguin mailbox to oversee your mail deliveries!
This delightful mailbox was found very near to the Redback spider featured earlier in the Amazing Mailbox Quest.

Sadly, this penguin will have a long clumsy walk to get to the sea. The nearest coast is some 300km away!
Seems the neighbours on this farm have a lot more mail and consequently a far larger mailbox! But it is nowhere near as creative in design as its marine inspired neighbour
Do you know of any unusual mailboxes that are unusual or different for some reason? Why not get a photo and add it to our collection? The instructions for participating are at the bottom of this post.

Already other readers have added some of those they have found. They are well worth a visit: you will find links to their photos on my primary mailbox post.

To participate in the Amazing Mailbox Quest:
Get a photo (please either photograph without the owner’s details or cover/blur them so that they are not readily identifiable) and post it on your site. It would be good to know the country and state of each entry, but to protect the privacy of the owners, please avoid any detailed location information in your post or in the photo(s).
Tag the post ‘Amazing mailbox quest’, then add a link to it in the comments on this page so that others can find your posts. I will also add a link (to your post) to the overall list along with everyone else’s.

I love this one, I am now looking at every mail box I go past. It gives me another reason to always have the camera with me…
It is very unusual, I agree! I too have started scouring the roadsides a bit more closely and have my family looking out for mailboxes for me too! I have been told of a piranha mailbox so will get a photo of that one!
Look forward to seeing it
Great idea! I’ll be on the lookout!
Thanks twocamps, I’m looking forward to seeing what you find!
